Details:
I was born in Lee Country, VA., a small coal mining town; my dad was a coal miner. In 1960 coal miners were on strike. Dad was a strong union miner. During the minor''s strike in 1960 someone set our home on fire. Thank God, dad got us all out of the house, as we watched it burn to the ground. We never knew who set our house on fire, but dad knew where they came from. Losing everything, work was hard to find, we moved to Cincinnati, OH. Dad''s plan was to take us back home to VA, but that never happened, he died in 1968, I was 14 years old. Before he died; he bought my first guitar and said “girl teach your self to play, write an answer to a song for me”. I still go to Virginia to see my immediate family and to visit dad’s grave. Virginia will always be my home! At 18 yrs old, I met a DJ from WUBE Radio in Cincinnati, Dave Scott. He asked me to play my guitar and sing for him. Dave organized a band and that was the start of my performing. When Country Performers came to the Taft Theater in Cincinnati, Dave was their Master of Ceremonies and he would take me with him. I was able to meet and talk with the Great Performers like…Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr., Conway Twitty, Barbara Mandrell & others. Standing back stage and watching them walk out to perform. It felt like I was walking out there with them. At 20yrs old I moved to Memphis. I met Jerry Lee Lewis, Dee Presley, through Dave I met Les Acree and others. One year later I moved back to Cincinnati. I continued to sing in bands around the area. A few years later, I married, gave my heart to the Lord and had four children. I stopped performing in public, my dream, became my family, so I dedicated my life to them. I continued to play my guitar and write songs over the years, but only for my family and friends. All of this is why I recently recorded “Memories”, "Country Man" and “Diesel Drivin Woman”. We all have memories of good and bad, but it is the cherished ones we choose to remember most. I hope you enjoy my music as much I do in writing and singing them and that my songs will touch your heart or make you tap you foot!

“Diesel Driving Woman” was inspired by friends of mine, Linda and Dave. They have been truckers for 25 years. This song is dedicated to all Diesel Truck Driving Women who make a living, driving the big rigs on those ribbons of highways across this great nation of ours. Also, this is dedicated to all truckers who carry those big loads over roads that help keep this great nation running. God Bless America, God Bless the American Trucker Drivers and their families! Be safe on the roads!!!!!!!!!!!
“Memories” was written for all of those many cherished moments I have of those great mountains in Virginia, my family, friends and loved ones from the past to the present.
“Country Man” was written about all of the wonderful southern country men and my Dad was one of them!
