Joe Morra started playing the piano when he was four. He studied classical piano, played with orchestras, won piano competitions. The solitary life of a classical musician lost its appeal, however, so he started singing and writing songs. He subsequently spent 20 years in the music and entertainment industries, performing original music in nightclubs in New York City and Washington, D.C. He even did some work as a pianist/actor on ABC-TV''s daytime soap opera "One Life To Live." He worked as an opening act for Mary Travers, Livingston Taylor, The Persuasions, John Hartford, Karla Bonoff and Dave Mason, and received accolades for his ability to capture human stories in pop songs constructed with interesting arrangements and catchy melodies. His influences are the masters of piano-based pop music—Elton John, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Jackson Browne, to name a few. This collection of tunes includes some of the staples from Morra''s catalog, including "Stand," "Cinema''s Magic," "Through My Eyes," and "Lazybones."
