Introducing Simon "The Slyman" Waugh, an artist convinced that the only way to get ahead in the music industry is to do it yourself, so that is what I am doing, Love it or Hate it, Thats up to you, either way I had fun making it, I dont have a big ego so I''m not going to walk out on what I''m doin and am going to continue making music, basically cause I love doin it, am a drummer by trade and have recorded all the drums you listen too, as well as the vocals as well.
The Escapism Project is a labour of love over a 2 year period, I had been in a band for a few years, playing Rock which is a lot of fun, but wanted to push myself "stylistically", so that is what this cd is all about, a bit of a journey into experimentation, some Instrumental tracks, and a few with a message as well. I love mixing the Instruments together to see what comes out of it, I use everything from Guitars to Strings.
I initially made this album for my pleasure, just to listen too in the car, but was advised by a friend that I should share it with others, so that is what I am doing.
I have the pleasure of endorsing Saluda Cymbals, a cymbal company customising each cymbal to the sound you want, which was extremely inportant on this cd, especially on instrumental tracks such as "Morning Drive", where I wanted a specific sound on the splashes.
