Joi has many musical influences, from early favorites such as Peter Gabriel, Graham Parker, U2, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, John Lennon, Petula Clark and James Taylor to the more recent brilliance of Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, Dave Matthews, Pearl Jam, Live, Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley and Coldplay.
Joi Veer''s new CD, "PEARL DIVING" features fourteen new songs that are naturals for Film Soundtrack and TV Music. It has already generated a music placement on FOX''s hit TV show "America''s Most Wanted." He teamed up with renowned producer, Armand John Petri (Goo Goo Dolls, Six Pence None The Richer, 10,000 Maniacs) who helped craft these recordings. In addition, Chuck Burgi, a world-class drummer(Hall & Oates, Movin'' Out), produced 2 songs.

It is the song that drives this artist. Never bound by "formula", Joi''s style has exploded through his gravitation to the guitar as his main songwriting tool. His drumming background has given him a keen awareness of rhythm and percussion that bubbles beneath his signature vocals delivering waves of fluid melody. There is a splash of "world beat" flavor countering and fusing the ever-present electric and acoustic guitars. These songs also feature tastefully performed piano, organ and keys which compliment the vocal, melodic and guitar dynamics, and really bring these tracks into the cinematic realm of music for dramatic film and television as well as quirky scenes.
