"No. 1 Album of 2004; best unheard album of the year" -Rave! Magazine

"It''s hard to pick the appropriate reaction - delight, disappointment or dismay - when a better album is recorded by a 19-year-old in his Manhattan Beach apartment than by all the artists on Atlantic Records in an entire year."
-Corey Levitan, The Daily Breeze 4-9-04

"I like the energy of the tunes... somehow both pro sounding and totally casual at the same
time... not easy to do... "
-Cary Brothers, singer/songwriter - The Garden State Soundtrack

At 19 years old, Avi Vinocur has carved out an impressive list of credentials for one so young: he opened for the Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1965, he talked John Lennon into the cover art for the Sgt. Pepper album, he was taught how to hit a ball by Bobby Thomson (who won the pennant for the New York Giants in 1951 with the single swing of a bat), he was awarded the MBE by Queen Elizabeth at the age of 6, and he set Dylan on the right track in 1963 when he said, "For Pete''s sake, Robert--the times, they''re a-changing, man!"

(Actually, he did meet Bobby Thomson once.)

Proficient on electric, acoustic, bass, piano and keyboard, Avi taught himself to play guitar when he was 12. Influenced primarily by the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Simon and Garfunkel, Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan, he''s written over 100 songs that cover the entire spectrum of rock and roll: blues, folk, rhythm, and nuts-and-bolts classic rock.

Avi has performed solo and with his own band throughout Southern California at such well-known venues as the House of Blues, the Roxy, the Whisky, and Sacred Grounds. He was also asked to write a specialty number for comedian Bill Engvall to include in his latest album.

Look for Avi''s follow up album "Life in a Nutshell"
