BIOGRAPHY
Known as the Steel City, Gary, Indiana has little to offer aside from gangs, drugs, and jail time. Enter Vizion, a student of these streets able to capture a crowd with a microphone on stage. Filled with personal experiences, political views, and social issues; his music has a variety of strong messages that people appreciate and relate with.
Vizion has been directing his creative efforts towards rap music since 1992. At a young age, gang affiliation and run-ins with police kept his dream of music barely visible; but through his struggles, he remained focused. From rhyming in street corner ciphers, to winning battles across the country, Vizion has gained a strong underground following. In 1999, he released the self-produced compilation album, "Vizion presents... Options," which sold over 5,000 units by 2000. At this time, Vizion started to focus on national exposure and events, such as the Blaze Battle which was televised on HBO. In 2001, he was featured on The Grind Family''s album, "So many problems, So much pain," which reached #97 on Billboard''s rap/hiphop chart.
After being featured on DJ Risky Bizness''s Mixtape, "The Syllabus 1.0," which featured underground stars such as J.U.I.C.E., Slug, Prime, Eminem, and Vakill, Vizion returned to the lab in 2002 to begin work on his solo debut. Released late 2002 ,the debut album entitled, "I Love You," has received critical acclaim from many prominent individuals within the rap community. Ascending towards superstar status, expect the name Vizion to soon become a familiar brand around the world.
