I must confess that when I received this cd that I felt proud and honoured at the same time as this artist played with the biggest black artists of all time...The Temptations, Edwin Starr, The Chi-Lites, The Spinners and even the godfather of soul, James Brown himself! Plus later in the 70''s he was the bassist and writer of the funk-rock-band Black Merda! who released 2 albums on Chess Records and I''m sure that any funk fan will know what I''m talking about!
But in 2002 V! (aka VC Lamont Veasey) is doing things differently and released his solo-album which is instrumental guitar music. And I am glad V! said himself that it is meditative music cos in all honesty this tops the works of the greatest guitarist ever, Vini Reilly of The Durutti Column.
Some songs are a bit bluesy a la John Lee Hooker but most of the times it is daydreaming guitar playing that isn''t that far away from Orange Cake Mix and for an artist with such a different background that''s strange but magical nontheless! At this times this sounds too good to be true...but I am not daydreaming.. (Didier Becu, The Original Sin website review, 2002.)

This CD is just some trippy, laid-back, Mediterranean, island type, guitar music, of me just tripping and exploring, various idiosyncratic, psycho-cultural, musical moods and nuances(I know that''s easy for me to say!) mostly for you to just trip and listen to, so check it out!
It''s kind of like the opposite of what Black Merda does, but just listen with an open, receptive mind anyway. If you can dig this kind of dreamy, reflective, musical journey good! If not, it''s still good! It''s all-good in the end anyway! Different notes for different folks! But I hope you try it! Maybe even buy it!
In my pre-Black Merda days, I toured with Motown recording artists, The Temptations, in the 1970''s. Also Edwin Starr, of "War" (what is it good for!), and "25 Miles to Go", fame. I''ve toured with Brunswick recording artists, "The Chilites", "Girl" (I''ll be in trouble if you leave me now!), with "The Spinners" (It''s a Shame) and a host of other lesser known recording acts.
During one gig at the "Apollo Theater" in New York, around 1967 the legendary "Godfather of Soul" James Brown, sat in with the band I was playing with "The Soul Agents", and did of couple of his hit songs, "Cold Sweat" and "Poppa''s got a brand new Bag!" Just some historical-musical tidbits for you to chew on!
I enjoy playing a variety of musical styles and my musical tastes range across a wide spectrum of musical styles and genres.
I''m just trying to leave my own uniquely, recognizable, footprints on the world of music.
And no matter what country you''re tuning in from or what language you speak. We all can understand the language of music!
