Thanh Nguyen, better known as ‘Tommy’ to his friends, born in 1981, is a young man whose passion is to follow Christ. Tommy was originally born in Vietnam. He became blind when he was 4 years old. When he was 11, Tommy, his mother and his older brother migrated to the United States in order to seek a better and safer life. Tommy faced many difficulties such as language and culture barriers; however, with God’s help and grace, he now speaks English fluently.
Tommy has two older sisters and his oldest brother and their families, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews still residing in Vietnam. When Tommy was 16, the Lord took his mother away when she died of bone cancer. Shortly after his mother’s death, Tommy gave himself to Christ; and since then, he lives to serve his Lord and Savior.
Tommy attended MacArthur Junior High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, Muskogee High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and he graduated from Lions World Services for the Blind in Little Rock, Arkansas. Tommy presently resides in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Since his childhood years, Tommy has been involved with music. He started playing keyboard when he was 4. At present, he plays the piano, keyboard, acoustic and electric guitar, and the drums. He also composes songs and sings. Currently, he is recording his own music and music for other artists. Tommy dedicates his playing and music abilities to Jesus Christ, and he is committed to spread the message of the gospel through music.
