MP3 Brenda Weiler - Trickle Down
Deft songwriting and powerful yet intimate vocals: folk-pop that''s a bit more ragged than Sarah McLachlan, but without the anger of Ani DiFranco. Brought to you by Peppermint.

"Weiler certainly has the talent to rise up to her Lilith Fair counterparts, but shhh, don''t tell the committee she''s singing funny songs about womanhood, it''s supposed to be tragic."
- Potpourri and Roses (Los Angeles)
"Brenda Weiler''s own rapt following connects with her on her own terms. That huge, mighty, yet pretty folk-pop voice comes out of a mouth that can speak eloquently about ''issues'' to her audience, and from a head that seems steadier and clearer as she gets more passionate"
- City Pages
"Without bowing to cliches, or wallowing in adolescent tunnel vision, Weiler''s songs work because they''re painstakingly real and honest."
- Minneapolis StarTribune
"Brenda Weiler Live" is the new album from folk-rock-singer-songwriter Brenda Weiler. Her previous three CDs, "Fly Me Back," "Crazy Happy," and "Trickle Down," established her as one of the Midwest''s most important and acclaimed independent singer-songwriters. Brenda Weiler Live is her latest effort: a collection of both old and new songs all recorded solo and live.
"Brenda Weiler Live" represents what it is that Brenda does best - performing live in front of an audience. It is a collection of songs taken from only three live shows and features songs from her third album "Fly Me Back" (some of which were decorated with a full band and even a whole string section), stripped down to their core - just guitar and voice. It also features songs from her first two albums that have naturally changed over the four year time period since they were recorded, either in tempo, arrangement, or overall feel. Songs like "Tease" or "Pretty Face" feature Brenda''s talent for rhythm and phrasing, whereas "Out of the Blue" and "This Voice" showcase her ability to hold an audience spellbound with her vocal dynamics and sensitivity to subject matter.
Critical acclaim for Brenda has included numerous articles and reviews, both in regional and national publications. Performing Songwriter Magazine recently called Brenda''s music something that "woos the listener and won''t let go." Brenda Weiler Live is the perfect example of that ability.
