Singer/songwriter WENDY NEW has hit the local and international music scene with a sound all her own. Born in South Africa and a resident of New York City for many years, she has been playing guitar and writing songs since she was 8 years old.
She has appeared at many popular music venues in Johannesburg and in New York and performs regularly all around South Africa. She has collaborated with electronica music project 310 and hiphop project Q&A Productions, both based in New York. Her music is a kind of new millenium soul blues. Her songs are a unique synthesis of pop, world, trip-hop, hip-hop and folk/rock genres while lyric images span the globe, with magnetic gritty sweet melodies and kickarse grooves.
Her recently released CD Dissolve in the Sun, is a culmination of her myriad music and songwriting talents. Wendy New is not to be missed for an original sound and performance experience.
