The original music of Wayne Hansen comes from years of personal life experiences , Wayne served as US Marine from 1967-1970 and served in Vietnam in 1968 in a combat unit. After service he returned to school and earned a BA degree from the University of South Florida in 1980 and went on to serve an 11 year career in social services , mainly in Child Protective Services. He retired early in 1991 due to disability from combat in Vietnam .
Wayne first learned to play the guitar in 1960 at age 12 , by the time he was 19 he had played in serveral youth "rock bands" , however , Wayne also played folk and some country. He never quit playing but had to have surgery on both hands in 1997 , after several years of recovery he returned to performing live music in July 2001.
Wayne has written 29 songs as has recorded 19 songs so far , he continues to write and work on improving his UNIQUE and DIFFERENT style ( a blend of modern folk , country folk , with a little rock and Caribbean vibe.
Wayne wrote and recorded "It''s the Buccaneers" a rockabilly tribute to the Tampa Bay Buccaneer Super Bowl team , "It''s the Buccaneers" aired on several Fla radio stations.
Wayne also dedicates a large portion of his musical time to performing benefit work , primarily for disabled children and veterans.
In December 2004 "Preacher Man" (In Strange Ways cut #6)was released by HMG Nashville nationally on CC Vol.89 and the song has recieved sincere interest from several areas of the USA.
Wayne strongly feels that music is a gift from God and God can be different to all people however always ''SPIRITUAL'', and music is truly a spiritual experience that Wayne calls the "Miracle of Music" a ''Ministry of Spirit''.
