Rock-n-roll with blues driven guitar, pop hooks, Moms like it, and an ugly red broken down car to think about while you listen.

8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
Worry Stones:

TIM METZ, 26, Vocals/Guitar
Equipment: Fender Am Stand. Telecaster
Fender Pro Sonic Amp, Roland JC 120
Taylor 310ce Acoustic
Attributes: Effectively Overcoming Tourettes
Syndrome
Tim has been singing since elementary school, where he sang in the school chorus (and was absolutely CRUCIFIED by the other kids for actually swaying back and forth while singing.) He grew up in Maryland, where, at age six, he lost the lead in an Oscar Meyer commercial to another child because the producers thought the smug little bastard was "cuter". Tim still bears the scars of rejection to this day, and will burst into tears at the mere sight of a bologna sandwich. He started the Worry Stones mainly so he could "make those damn producers rue the day." In his free time he collects seashells and builds display cases for them.

ERICH (yeah, just ERICH), 26, Guitars/Vocals
Equipment: Fender Am. Stratocaster Plus
Taylor 410ce Acoustic
Really Old Gibson (1968-ish)
Fender Hot Rod DeVille Amp
Attributes: Doesn''t Attract Moths
Erich has been playing the guitar since his youth in New Jersey, New England, and all the other places on the East Coast where strange accents are cultivated. Little is known about his upbringing, but there are pictures of him playing at a blues club at age 15. More significant than that is the fact that he was wearing an all white suit and a fedora while this picture was taken. His tastes in clothing have since improved. In his free time he plays golf, darts, and water polo.

JAY RAPOPORT, 24, Piano, Organ
Equipment: Kurtzweil PC88
Fender Rhoads Stage Piano
Roland B3 Simulator
Roland Amp
Attributes: Can Lift Up To 8 Pounds At A Time
"Forgive me if I don''t shake hands," Jay says. "I''m allergic." Despite obviously not being part of Darwin''s Plan, this 23 year old Virginia native continues to buck the odds by surviving. "Well, I''m allergic to bee stings, milk, sugar, smoke, and artificial preservatives of any kind. I have to wear protective gloves while I play, which makes things kind of tricky, but I still manage to get through all the songs." Jay met the band while in the hospital. "Well, I accidentally ate a Milk Dud, and my whole body just went haywire. I was in intensive care, and then during those long months of recovery I would play piano for all of the drug rehab patients. That was how I met Adam, and he introduced me to the rest of the guys after I got out." Jay''s pluck and sheer determination to survive have earned him serious respect from the rest of the guys in the band. "Yeah, I think we''re all getting along okay," he says, pausing to take a puff from his ever present inhaler. "Tim says that as soon as my lung capacity gets back to normal, I can give singing a try."

ADAM DAWSON, 27, Drums
Equipment: Premiere 4 piece Set
Zildjian Cymbals
Attributes: Swims Like a Rock
Adam has been playing the drums since the age of seven. His first band experience occurred a year later, when the band playing at his father''s company picnic let him sit in on "Down on the Corner" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band members (who were all employees of his father) clapped loudly and enthusiastically after the song was over. Since then, Adam has played in "too many goddamn bands to remember." He lived in California for one year, during which he had a brief and embarrassing career in the "film" industry, but only because he was broke and needed the money. He joined the Worry Stones for the same reason. His hobbies include watching "Platoon", dropping water balloons on winos, and getting inebriated and going to holistic healing seminars.

Worry Stones'' music is influenced by past and present greats including Bare Naked Ladies, Counting Crows, the Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, and Bruce Springsteen, and we often pay tribute to them in our live performances.

We have participated in events sponsored by 98Rock, 94.7, WRNR, 99.1HFS and DC101; been featured on numerous local music radio broadcasts in the D.C metropolitan area, and on DC101''s "Elliot in the Morning" show. We have one album, a documentary, and a second album on the way. Worry Stones has performed for clubs, colleges, fraternities, benefit concerts, business parties, family reunions, special events, and an occasional street corner bucket.

We started wearing underwear and tying our shoes after a few freak meetings, reunions, and ads in the City Paper in an effort to produce our debut album, NOVA Custom, which was consequently released September 29, 2000. It features 8 tracks produced and recorded independently at Cue Recording Studios in Falls Church Virginia. The CD has sold more than 3000 copies and is only a taste of the music and energy of the Worry Stones'' live show.

We have an interactive Web site at https://www.tradebit.com where you can download our music, check our schedule, join on our e-mail list, and look at pretty pictures of us.

Chris Miller appeared on Bass for this album.
