Zentribe is a collision of trip-hop, funk, hip-hop, and break-beat offered by an underground dojo in the Pacific Northwest. The tribe''s music is written and performed by Zenja in Southern Oregon, and the vocal talents hail from San Francisco to Denmark and a couple places in between.
We dig new, funky, underground music as much as you do. We want all of our albums to come off unique, fresh, and with full ass-shaking potential. Zenja uses guitars, turntables, hand-drums, keys, comps, and a host of techno-gear to pull sound from everywhere in the universe and dump it into your speakers. The coolest way I ever heard our music described was, "It''s like Tricky, Beck, and Yoda had a funky love-child." We don''t think you''ll be disappointed. We all dig bands like Terranova, Portishead, Tricky, Morcheeba, Deepspace 5, Dieselboy, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Heiroglyphics, Braille, Solovox, Trancenden, James Brown, the Smiths, Random Rab, Prodigy, Beck, the Beasties, the Crystal Method, DJ Shadow, the X-Ecutioners, Outkast, Maker, the Chemical Brothers, Minor Threat, and Fugazi.
