Keith grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. He started playing music at an early age and soon discovered the gift and joys of writing songs. In 1984 he and his wife Pam moved to Los Angeles so Keith could better explore the entertainment industry. Keith jokes, “ we planned to move to Nashville but couldn’t get stopped and ended up in L. A.! ”While living in Los Angeles
Keith continued his songwriting and expanded his creative outlets to screen-writing. A script based on a song entitled “The Winter Stallion,” has been acclaimed
as “a story that should be told,” and Keith adds, “hopefully it will be one day”.
After living and working for nearly seven years in Los
Angeles, the love for the outdoors and the mountains
drew them back to Western North Carolina. Keith is a
self taught musician and plays and writes in a variety
of styles from old mountain and bluegrass songs on the
acoustic and slide guitar, to folk, blues and rock tunes,
often accompanied by the harmonica. Many are intrigued
with his finger-picking, claw-hammer style of guitar playing. He also enjoys playing a two-finger style banjo and the piano when a piano is available. During the Persian Gulf War in 1986, his song “10,000 Mile Blues”, which is on Keith’s “Muscle-Bound” CD, was played by select radio stations across the U.S. and was broadcast by the Armed Forces Network to stations world wide. Keith loves to play and entertain and states that one of his biggest joys is when everyone has a good time at one of his performances. He has recently completed a second CD, “Smoky Mountain Days” which features the mountain or Americana music. For a special treat, Pam will sometimes join Keith on stage to sing a few select numbers.
