In 1963 I failed a French class at DePauw University, and my father told me that if I wanted to go back to school in the fall, I had better get a job, because he wasn’t going to pay for me to fail.
I narrowed down my worldly possessions to one suitcase and a guitar, and went on the road to become a “humdinger” folk singer.
Actually and metaphorically I have been on the road ever since.
Next to playing my music live for an appreciative audience, there is nothing I would rather do than drive through the west (particularly) with the music up and the windows down, just lookin’ at stuff.
Truth is that 90% of my entire song catalog has been written in the car, on a plane, or a bus goin’ somewhere, but I’ve narrowed this album down to particular songs that are about travelin’ or wantin’ to be trvelin’.
I do so hope that you enjoy them. They are, in my mind, to be listened to while driving. Hopefully, on a wide open road in the wide open spaces, “going over yonder, just to see what’s up around the bend.”!
