It has taken me 11 long years to finally complete this work of art. I came from a broken and abusive home. I was placed in one Foster Home after another. Even though I felt alone and empty I always looked to God to comfort me in these trying times.
I began writing poems when I was a young boy. 11years ago, I took some of my poems and along with a dear friend, we began putting these words to music. It was during this time I found my mother that had abandoned me. She was dieing of cancer. I showed her my poems and music. On her death bed, I made a promise that one day I would finish this project and now my promise is fulfilled. I have gone through so much these past 11 years and I felt this project would never get finished. I kept fighting on and kept God in my heart and now it’s a reality.
My project is titled: “ Unlocking Treasure, Wake The World To Luv.” The songs on the CD are all about my childhood. What I want the listener to take from my lyrics and music is that no matter how bad things are or seem to be, just keep true and God in your heart and you can overcome anything.
