Biography
A native of Shreveport, Paul Brown was influenced early in life by the likes of Black Sabbath, Yes and Emerson Lake and Palmer. Raised in an electric motor shop he also had a strong interest in electronics whereby he built his first synthesizer, a PAIA Gnome, from a kit when 14. He was instructed in piano lessons for three years til the age of 13 and performed a Beethoven piece in a large church. His father was also involved in music and taught him to play the acoustic guitar at an early age. He played bass guitar in many garage type bands and in the eleventh grade talent show. Later he enlisted in the Marine Corps where his MOS, “military occupational specialty” was avionics. Recently he has designed and built PCs and rediscovered synthesizers. He combines the PC with synthesizers to produce his first album “Grind and Polish”. This is his second culmination of concepts, performances and compositions. The name, "Sonic Hooky" is referring to the auditory vacation you the listener will experience and some have likened the name to the many hooks in his music.
