In 2001 while playing trumpet with The Monkees I got to see the last boy band created by Lou Perlman (creator of N''SYNC) called Natural. This experience excited me and made me want to be in a boy band, I thought the first step would to be work on my voice with some original songs about love. So I saved my money and bought a Yamaha QY-100 sequencer, which is just a portable manipulatable band in a box, so I could write music in a hotel or on the bus. Then when we would have time off I would practice/record vocals and trumpet in my apartment in Brooklyn. So half the record was written on the road and the other half was written in my apartment. After 9/11 happened finishing this record was my only way out of such depressing air!
