The formation of Whoremonger took place in the town of Whorten Metal City, Norway, in the year of 2005. After a couple of years in the rehearsal room and several concerts, they decided it was time to record their first album.
“Fury Tales” was recorded on the infamous "Broms-jordet", the summer of 2007. Thomas Ruud was called in as producer, and the record was finally done January 2009.
During the process, they posted three songs from the album on different web-sites. Both Agraphobic Sexorcism and Tied To An Anchor was quickly noticed by NRK, Norways largest national broadcasting radio channel (Finally som hard hitting metal on the radio). Tied To An Anchor earned the Whoremongers an award, which resulted in quite some interviews and promotion. The two songs also ended up on NRK’s hotlist of the summer 2008.
