Details:
Composer, singer and producer Alex Bogoluboff released his third album "Listen to me Russia" right after his second album "Only you and me." Both albums were released in the same year, 2003.
His career as a musician started in 1969 when he was only 15 years old. Singing songs with his friends, he developed several songs which have become very popular, among Russian youth. These songs are called "Blatniye"-because they have not been approved by the state. Shortly thereafter he was drafted by the Soviet army. For two years he was completely removed from the music world.
In 1977, he moved to the USA, and his musical career looked totally dismal, but all these years, he persistently worked on these songs and after several years finally started to release them. Throughout these years he has developed his own creative style in song writing. It''s become more like a romantic, modern, pop-rock-oriented, European style music.
All together Alex says he wrote about 120 songs. 38 songs have already been released, so he has approximately 80 songs more to produce.
His album "Listen to me Russia" is about nostalgia, great Russian nature and culture, and naturally about love. It also contains humorous songs to help fight the prevalent drinking habit (Ivan) and two songs (In memory, Robbed) speak of the need to fight crime.
So besides bringing musical pleasure, Alex''s songs have socially meaning as well.
