Award Winning Poet Yusef Komunyakka and Tomas Doncker Collaborate on "The Mercy Suite"
Pulitzer prize winning poet Yusef Komunyakka and highly regarded singer/songwriter/musician Tomas Doncker are proud to announce thier compulsory collaboration entitled, "The Mercy Suite". Doncker describes "The Mercy Suite" as "a song cycle about Love, Relationships and War". The suite features performances by artists such as Hollins Steele, Meshell Ndegeocello, Corey Glover, Chocolate Genius, Morley, Daniel Sadownick and others. It is produced by Doncker and Hollins Steele.
Yusef Komunyakka is an award winning poet who currently teaches at New York University. In 1994 he won The Pulitzer Price for Poetry for his collection "Neon Vernacular: New and Selected Poems". His work is greatly informed by his experiences growing up in the rural south before civil rights and by his days as a soldier in The Vietnam https://www.tradebit.comas Doncker is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He has garnered much notoriety as a prolific World Soul recording artists as well as an omnipotent guitarist and producer. His arts pedigree includes being a firmly entreched part of the then burgeoning Lower East Side New York scene that fostered the likes of Madonna, Talking Heads, Bill Laswell,Jean Michel Basquiat and other vibrant personalities. He has been touring the east coast in support of his current project "Small World".
