I never met Barry White...I came very close to meeting and
I even ''shared a moment'' with ''the Maestro'' but we never
met up close.I used to practice with his ''Love Unlimited
Orchestra'' at a rehearsal ''apartment'' on Sunset Boulevard
in Hollywood...There was so much excitement in that
environment...Two drummers, who were sync-ed so well that
they played as one,...four guitarists...and a bunch of other
excellent musicians. Barry would come by sometimes but just
to observe and explain which changes needed to be made...
I had no chance to meet him there.
One day, while I was singing at my own recording session at
Larrabee Recording Studios (West Hollywood, back when they
only had one location...now they have four)...I was shocked
when the outer door of the console room began to open right
in the middle of my song. I wondered,..."Who could be so
oblivious to recording studio etiquette that they would
enter a "live" session even while the large, red light
indicated ''STOP!!!!''" I began to get upset when I first noticed the intrusion but I had to keep my cool because I
didn''t want to affect the creative flow of my performance.
The door continued to open...I was in the bullet-proof
glass, sound-proofed recording chamber so I was helpless as
to preventing whoever it was from coming in...When the
trespasser was finally revealed, I was relieved, excited
and energized by the presence of one of my musical heroes,
Barry White.
I continued singing, noticeably affected in an exhilerated
fashion...he snapped his fingers to the beat, began to tap
his feet and totally got into my groove...It was such an honor to entertain Barry White...It was like retribution,
payback for the many times he had performed for, and
inspired https://www.tradebit.com this album, I dedicate the song "For The Very
First Time" to none other than the recently departed Barry
White...The song, although an original Thaddeus Carlton, has
a Barry White feeling...I think you''ll enjoy it. Similarly,
on my last CD release (Thaddeus Carlton, The Greatest Hits,
Volume 2) there is another track, "More Than A Miracle "
that has a touch of Barry.
Some of my songs involve popular phrases such as "Talk To The Hand" and "Just Chillin''". Others are about love such as
"Merci Beaucoup", "I''m In Love" and once again "For The Very
First Time". Humor is also one of my strong suits, as the
songs "Cheeseburger", and "Nothin''s Changed" would indicate.
The tunes "Mamacita" and "Bedroom Eyes" possess Latin
persuasion while "Living In Heaven" and "I''m In Love" take
you back to the classic days of songwriting (the forties and the fifties). The crown gem of the entire album is a
ballad entitled "Dream"...It envisions a world of peace and
harmony between all the many facets of mankind whether it
be racial, religious, governmental,...whatever...We''ve got
to learn to live together.
I write music for everyone! I have many different influences. I am capable of composing at least one song per
day,every single day of my life as I am very fortunate, and blessed by God in that way.. When I sit down to ''write'', I
sometimes don''t know what will come out of my mind...All I
know is this is what I was created to do.
Many professionals have referred to me as being one of the
great songwriters of our time...Praise such as this makes
me feel happy...but I write the songs for you, the public,-
