Basically, there are two types of music fans:

Canto 6 knows exactly which group their music is meant for.

"We started this band with a concept: To build a sound based on our heavy roots yet attract a wide audience," explains bassist Kurt Maurer. "We wanted the sound to make people move -- not just bang their heads."
The Pennsylvania-based band achieves this balance of heavy and accessible by following the lead of groups like Linkin Park, Evanescence, Rob Zombie, and Nine Inch Nails, laying a solid foundation of driving rhythms with melodic hooks sure to bring in fans from all over the musical map. And like a handful of other modern rock outfits, Canto 6 spices things up by adding a dash of electronica to the mix.
"We incorporate electronics or programming into our material and take steps to reproduce that sound live while remaining a four-piece," says Maurer. "It gives us a modern edge and it sets us apart from the pack."
That live show is another huge reason why Canto 6 is poised to impress listeners of rock, pop, and everything in between. "We display a unique energy during our live performance, punctuated by a very talented front man," says Maurer about singer (and chief songwriter) Mick DeAngelis.
The band''s intriguing sound has been captured perfectly on its new EP, Break The Mold, which is now available and will be promoted by an extensive tour. "We tried to construct something different with Break The Mold," explains bass player Kurt Maurer. "We wanted the tracks to appeal to the masses, yet remain faithful to our heavy roots. I think there is a hook or rhythm for everyone in our new material."
Rounding out the lineup of Canto 6 is guitarist Andrew Chervak and drummer Jack Gerhard.
