In an article in the Reading Eagle Newspaper, Reading, PA, Sunday, May 18, 2003 the interviewer writes;
"For years, Debi Irene Wahl of Shoemakersville, who has a voice that can range over three octaves would sing almost anywhere. Wahl, who has been singing since she was 6 years old, would sing for hours to her children and then to her school bus passengers and finally in concert. Wahl, who for the last 8 years has run Act 1 Productions, has a niche that includes senior groups, children groups, civic, church, clubs, restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and even Scotland where she traveled in 2000 to sing throughout the country. The first year she started performing she did 12 concerts. After 8 years she has over 300 performances a year, including her drama and Biblical musicals; comedies and murder mystery shows. Everything is always family friendly. Says Wahl, ''Everyone should find a way to do what''s in their heart.'' For any entertainer, in the big time or the boondocks, that still may be one of the greatest applause lines ever. Bruce Posten - reporter; https://www.tradebit.com

In an article in the Hamburg Item, Hamburg, PA, Wednesday, September 10, 2003 the interviewer writes;
"Shoemakersville resident Debi Irene Wahl is an entertainer through and through. She has known this since the age of six and the Schuylkill Valley native never put her talents on a shelf. In fact, Wahl followed her dreams to a full-time career in the entertainment industry, creating her very own traveling theater group known as Act 1 Productions. If Wahl is performing for senior groups, much of the show that she and her singing partners do is based on World War II Era and other tunes from the 1950''s. Throughout the year, Wahl performs a play based on the life of Fanny J. Crosby in the production ''Seeing in the Darkness''. No matter what the theme, the audience will laugh because comedy is a natural part of the show. ''comedy developed because I enjoy what I am doing,'' Wahl said, ''I use my family alot but poke fun at my husband the most.'' With a husband of Pennsylvania Dutch descent and three children, Wahl said the everyday happenings at the Wahl homestead provide her with enough material to last her for years to come. Wahl has no plans of slowing down. Her dream is to one day own her own Christian and secular music dinner theatre. Overall, Wahl said the best thing she can hope for is leaving her audience feeling a bit lighter when the curtains close. ''I am hopeful that at every show, the audience goes away feeling uplifted,'' Wahl said, ''and I end every show, even secular ones, with a hymn, because everything I do is for my love of the Lord''. contact Eric Veronikis at ericv@https://www.tradebit.com
