Dizazta''s first musical breakthrough came in 1994 when he landed the lead song on the soundtrack of John Singleton''s acclaimed film "Car Jacking". Shortly after this success Dizazta''s new group Poetic Punishment ( with Jackie "Jackpot" Wynn) was being managed by Chris Stokes (Immature, Marcus Houston, B2K). Songs, such as "Watch Me Get Crazy", would open at all Immature''s concerts. Time proved, however, that the management team''s focus was on R&B and not hip-hop and unfortunately went their separate ways.
Poetic Punishment continued to record more music. Songs like "I Feel Dirty, "Smoking Up Hollywood" and "Turn Back The Hands Of Time" caught the ears of Flatbroke Records who signed the group in 1997. The compilation album "The Return of the West" (1997) featured two songs from The Poetic Punishment duo: "Done Deal" and "No Enemies". This independent album sold over 100,000 copies and the owners of the label were satisfied with this one time endeavor and dismantled the label leaving many up and coming artist behind.
