Hello World!
What a fantastic day and time to be alive as an artist! The concept of CD Baby is going to change the world.
I self produced this CD on my home computer, did all the mixing cover art and burned about 200 copies before I left for Germany. I am very happy with the results. Manly because this is my first attempt at producing my own CD and I actually finished it and found it was a lot of fun. And second because it was a lot of work and built a lot of respect in me for the people who do this professionally. All those copies are gone either sold or given away as promotion, and now the only way to get one is to buy it here.
I played these songs endlessly for my friends and family as I wrote them and did a few live gigs to promote myself but was mostly interested in getting it all recorded, and not as diligent at spreading it around. A DJ for a local radio station gave it a listen and liked the first track so he put it on during a local artist section of his morning show. So, I did get some airtime on a local Radio station in Fairbanks with "Heart of the Greatland". I remember the first time I heard it on the radio I had to pull over and take in the moment. I could have died happy right there.
The thought of people getting off on my music is the ultimate high, and I love writing songs even though half the time it just starts with one line and I build around it. On occasion though a song will run out of my brain from start to finish in about fifteen minutes. A good example of that is "burn Barrel". That song will put you in my front yard in Alaska with me and my Buddies on an average party night.
The title track "Romantics'' Disease" is about discovering your identity, who you really are and learning to accept and love it. My favorite track is "Diversity''s'' Embrace" and I think the message speaks loudly to our world today that is riddled with conflict. All my friends that have heard it say it is the best song I have written. "Lessons" is another popular one that tells of the impact simple words of wisdom from a father have on a son. You may find another track on the CD that moves you and I would love to hear your reviews either good or bad.
I will be leaving Germany soon and landing in Southwest Florida where I will put together my next collection of tunes. I look forward to getting a band together and sharing our music locally. Hope to see you in the clubs.
