Underground phenomenon Natalie Flanagan has been garnishing rave reviews for her live performances and for her new CD "5 Star Day". "5 Star Day" and 3 new songs released for promotional purposes were recorded live at room 9 by Boston sound guru Mr. Duck Carlisle.
"Natalie''s Aspare songwriting style is highlighted by sweet Lou Reed meets Betty Serveert Vocals" - D. WILDMAN - BOSTON GLOBE
"Flanagan captivates audiences conjuring a dark moodiness reminiscent of Mazzy Star. Her band has only reinforced comparisons to Chrissy Hynde and The Feelies with more feel." - J. MARKO - NORTHEAST PERFORMER
"Natalie Flanagan writes the kind of songs you just can''t find in your day-to-day coffeehouse Singer/Songwriter scene. Her Power Pop is embellished with vintage guitar tones that evoke the comfort of sitting next to a roaring fireplace and listening to a heavy thunderstorm. Her singing sounds like she could very well be the bastard daughter of Chrissie Hynde. Good songwriting aside, Flanagan should be commended on finding a way to fuse Power Pop with Country Rock in a manner that strays from all the tired and predictable formulas often found in the charming but predictable No Depression scene.: - MIKE A. - https://www.tradebit.com
Borderline soft rock but a great unique style. A hint of an 80''s sound. Update: I have Natlalie''s song ''Number One'' on the hard drive that plays with ''As I Do'' and listening, it bothered me that I couldn''t put my finger on what that song reminded me of. I wrote that one line review without looking at her web page. She has rock influences going back to the late 70''s but I knew that she was to young to be rockin'' then. I went to her web page to see what it said and there it was. Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders. That solved my mystery for me. Natalie has her own style but to her credit she has tied over two musical generations into the richest, fullest style around. I predict she will be recognized as an all-time classic artist on the rock scene someday because of the range of her sound that spans classic rock to new country rock to garage band punk.
