My wife and I are two people who really love to worship God. I mean, you can put my wife in a church filled with people, or in a room all by herself with a worship cd, strike up the music, and she is gone! After the first 60 seconds, it''s just her and Jesus, and she''ll be aware of nothing else ''til the last note sounds!
I''m pretty much the same way, except that I really love to play the music, too. I love to lead worship as well as participate in it. I know God has given me a gift of music, and I love using it to help others enter into the presence of God. I have led worship in quite a few churches in the last 8 years or so, and I never tire of either being in His presence, or leading others there. I never tire of thanking my Lord Jesus for snatching me from the edge of the cliff, just as I was about to tumble over.
So, I got to thinking: We usually think of worship music as music that we sing to, you know, music with words. But I also love to simply play and create beautiful sounds to offer up to the Lord. This is very scriptural. If you check the Book of Psalms, you''ll find dozens of scriptures like, "Praise Him with the blast of the Trumpet, praise Him with the Lyre and Harp, praise Him with the tambourine and dancing, praise him with Stringed Instruments and Flutes, praise Him with the clash of Cymbals..." Psalm 150:3-5
Well that''s what this album is all about. As a matter of fact, in this album you''ll find all of those instruments, plus a whole bunch more! Acutally, you''ll find a pretty complete orchestra; everything from grand pianos to horns to strings to jazz guitars! It''s music from my heart that thanks our Father in Heaven for life, for love, for redemption, for His Son, Jesus. It''s music for the sheer joy of it!
Take this album home, set aside 40 minutes, find a quiet place to relax, turn the volume up, then "chill out" and listen. And while you''re listening, open your mind, heart, and spirit to receive God''s love. What must we do to really receive? Jesus said, "Only Believe. " Believe God''s Word, which says, "By His stripes we were healed ", and then drink in His love and truly be healed of all of your emotional pain, rejection and hurt, your feelings of being unloved, abandoned, shamed and forsaken, and above all, your feelings of being alone. For you are not alone. Jesus said, "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age." And when the last note sounds, your heart will beat a little slower, your body will be more at ease, and your heart will be more at peace. Why? Because you''ll be in His Presence. "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise." Psalm 100:4 And what happens in His Presence? "In His presence is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11
