MP3 Green Inside - Red

Rock & Roll in the slightest Southern tradition from four college age yankees, influenced by the early to mid-nineties modern rock radio waves.

4 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Funk Rock, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
The 2001 EP release from Green Inside.

Influenced by sounds you''d hear on early to mid-nineties modern rock radio, Red was the second EP from Green Inside and the first with a printing budget!

The lineup for the Blue EP included Seth Thulin (acoustic guitars & lead vocals), Steve Tobey (drums, percussion & vocals), Lorin Pellegrino (bass) and Rich Mirakian (electric guitars). It was the first time the band worked under a more intense, professional studio setting, as well as working with outside musicians (guest background vocals, Hammond B3 and Wurlitzer).

Musically the band was working harder to hone in on songwriting skills, versus building off of jams with vocal lines thrown on top. The band was also writing new songs together instead of building off of older ideas. Lyrically, the songs reflected life at the time; good friends, good times, love, broken hearts, and the longing for finding a place to fit as a "20 something."

Here is a brief biography of the current Green Inside.

In an effort to make describing sounds easier, music typically gets lumped into a genre. Metal, funk, emo, screamo, folk, hardcore, etc., all have come to describe a certain sound and style of music, even if the artists that get lumped into those categories have widely diverse sounds from each other. What about those artists who just play MUSIC, whose variety of influences and inspirations can be heard, but converge in a way that renders their music just that? MUSIC. New Haven, CT-based Green Inside is such a band. With influences ranging from Counting Crows to The Beatles to Led Zeppelin and more, Green Inside creates compelling music with honest lyrics that is accessible to a wide audience. With a "three chords and the truth" attitude, the band has created a soulful pop-rock sound that fans say sounds like Green Inside. Seth Adam (vocals, acoustic and electric guitars), Steve Tobey (drums, percussion and vocals), Gerry Giaimo (acoustic and electric guitars, vocals) and Tim Sway (electric and upright bass) come from diverse musical backgrounds, which, when stirred properly, creates an interesting, tasty brew.

Green Inside is currently supporting their first full-length CD, Left at the Prom.
