Strange Tides is the sophmore EP of songwriter/guitarist Rick Hanson. He studied music at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California, and is member of ASCAP.
In 1980 he had a garage band in Burbank, CA made up of friends from work on guitar, drums, keyboard, and vocals. We got together to jam every Friday night for about five years before dis-banding.
Since his garage band, he has toured the mid-west with an Adult Contemporary band, and played in an American Folk Music Festival during a four week tour of Central Asia.
During the six-week tour of the mid-west his band had the opportunity to play at a Miss Teenage Nebraska beauty contest in Lincoln, Nebraska, and in the Seward, NE town square on the 4th of July.
His most memorable performance, though, would be at the Concert of Hope at Seton Hall in Pasadena, California where he sang as one of the Cowsills in Hair.
Now he focuses his energies as a recording artist in his home studio where he is busily working on many different recording progects.
Some of his favorite artist are: 3 Doors Down, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Boston, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, Delp & Goudreau, Hoobastank, Elton John, Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, John Mayer, Pat Metheny, Sara McLauchlin, Nickelback, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, R.E.M., Rush, Train, and Led Zepplin.
