Evie T creates heartfelt, spiritual New Thought music that catches the ear and pulls at the heartstrings. Bringing a lifetime of rich experience to her craft, she sings about acceptance, recovery, spirituality, politics, life, death, creativity, loss, renewal and love.

Evie T. is a gifted, multi-talented, multi-faceted, passionate singer, songwriter and recording artist with a unique and unforgettable voice. She brings a lifetime of rich experience to her craft and creates music that not only catches the ear of the listeners -- but pulls at their heartstrings as well. DOORS AND WINDOWS is her seventh album of original music and features powerful, riveting, honest, courageous, though-provoking lyrics with beautiful and catchy AAA/Adult Contemporary music. This album is a testament to the strength of the human spirit to create inspirational art out of the pain and struggle of the human condition. Evie tackles themes that give on pause--making the listener think about life1s many shadings and colors. She has survived the struggles and enjoyed the rewards of mother, grandmother, musician, pilot, music/yoga teacher, lover, and best friend. With the confidence of a woman who has reached the halfway point of her life, she exposes her emotional center. Her voice provides light and shadow--form and substance--for those who hear her music and identify with the songs. Born in New York City, Evie Thompson was surrounded by music as she grew up. Piano lessons started at the age of six; as a teenager, she learned all different types of music--from Gershwin to the Beatles--strictly by ear. She developed a love for lyrical music, not only through her instrumental study, but by frequently attending musicals on Broadway and operas at Lincoln Center. After attending college for a year, she set aside her musical ambitions to get married and raise a family as did so many other women during that time. But as her children grew up, she felt the need for an artistic outlet and began a creative writing class while she was living in Santa Barbara, California and finishing a degree in psychology. This led to writing poetry and then lyrics. About this time, she met Jimmy Messina, one half of the legendary musical duo, Loggins & Messina. Meeting Jimmy inspired Evie to seriously start to plan a career move back to her first love... music. In spite of being told repeatedly, "You''re too old to get back into music" (she was in her late 30s at the time), she decided to get serious and go for it. Evie''s creative spark was lit and no one knew how long that fuse would burn until something ignited. Evie decided that the peaceful surroundings afforded by the Lake Tahoe region of California would provide the right location to continue her musical development. Upon arriving at Tahoe, she enrolled in Sierra Nevada College. Over time, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music, awarded Summa Cum Laude. She later studied the craft of songwriting at UCLA. Finally, in 1989, after becoming a partner in a Bay Area recording studio, Evie recorded her first album--a collection of solo instrumental piano compositions entitled GOING HOME AGAIN. She recalls, "I had so much to say artistically.... The music just poured out of me and into that piano." Soon after that record was released, she returned to Tahoe and started performing locally. She also began to match the poetry she had been writing for the past few years with the melodies she was now creating. Next, she enrolled in a class taught by noted trumpeter Jeff Lewis (whose credits include touring with Lenny Williams, Tommy Johnston and the Jacksons) in Los Angeles. Jeff introduced Evie to David Vasquez, a talented arranger and producer who works with Jeff at his LA facility, Moonlight Studios. Jeff, Evie and David hit it off immediately and a production team formed that is intact up to this day. Evie continues to write all her music at home in Tahoe and then travels to Hollywood, where she and David arrange and record the tracks. Jeff takes care of mixing and mastering the albums. As with her six previous albums, DOORS AND WINDOWS features Evie''s songwriting and vocal talents. She is a member of the National Academy of Songwriters (NAS), the American Society of Composers, and Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Evie''s work reflects much of the struggle she has faced--not only to build her artistic career, but also as a woman and a parent. "Although I''ve certainly had my share of happiness, I''ve also lived through some incredibly difficult times," Evie states. She adds: "Some of my songs deal with some heavy issues, and that seems to provide a few insights into feelings that are normally difficult for people to talk about." Evie relates, "Sometimes a person will come up after a performance and say that I am the first person they''ve ever heard who had ''been to hell and back...'' just like they had. That feeling of knowing that I''ve really communicated with that person is a very powerful emotion. It''s part of what keeps me going as an artist." Having experienced much of what life can offer gives Evie the long view of both her art and the up-and-down roller coaster of the entertainment industry. Residing in Lake Tahoe has also shielded her from many of the distractions that metropolitan New York and Los Angeles create. "I choose to stay close to my writing. I recharge myself by enjoying nature, my family, and using my experiences--both past and present--to draw on for inspiration. I travel to Hollywood to record with the talented musicians there...but I thrive up here in the mountains." She concludes, "I guess I''m living proof that women don''t have to fade away as they age. I had a dream 12 years ago and have worked steadily to make that dream a reality. I''m going to keep writing, performing, and enjoying my career each day. Music is now my business... and my love." Evie is currently promoting DOORS AND WINDOWS and her other six albums in many places on and off the Internet, working on her eighth album, has songs on four multi-artist compilations (include the Kspace Independent Internet Artist Compilation) and performs regularly in and out of the Tahoe area.
