Details:
joe and greg are Joe Keegan and Greg Granieri. Their music has been described as "roots pop", "dark and soulful" and "haunting". Their style - laid back and accessible with melodies reminiscent of those classic songs that played on your car radio and somehow seeped into your subconscious.

Yet, everything about Joe and Greg is altogether original. They are a dynamic duo - Joe, the singer/ songwriter and Greg, the musician and arranger. The simplicity in choosing "joe and greg" as their act''s name underscores the power of their musical and often poetic offerings. This is a big act that deserves a big name - but this underplaying is part of the "joe and greg" mystique (by the way - it should never be capitalized) and leaves little room to overshadow their musical partnership.

The blue eyed songwriter and soulful singer is Joe Keegan. His own lyrics describe his passionate battle with his ever elusive muse - "Will you come to me or run right through me - Like a ghost or a shadow or a deep blue sea". Joe''s drive to be seen through his songs makes him quite prolific and very often misunderstood. He is a New Yorker living in L.A. that finds it hard to put that Big Apple drive to sleep. He''s been writing songs since his teenage years and sang his own material along with a gamut of covers in a Long Island party band called "Targa". After the band''s demise, he embarked on a solo singer/songwriting career working with NY Producer Josh Melville on his first demo. His vocals and lyrics on "Brooklyn Girls" was on the short list to be used in Geena Davis'' film "Angie" but never made the final cut. The same fate fell on his song, "Stage Whisper" which was under consideration for a German TV show. While these were difficult times - Joe kept the songs flowing and went into seclusion with his muse. He headed west to L.A. and set out to find the perfect match for his music. More than a musical partner, more than a musician - Joe was looking for a creative force that could take him and his songs to the next level. In walks - Greg Granieri.

Greg is best known for his work in the L.A. Band, "Crazy Cat George". A consummate bass player - Greg saw this female singing trio into some of their best years together garnering several awards including "Rock City''s Best Alternative Band" and gaining a song spot in a Corona Beer ad. Under Greg''s direction and artistry - CCG released three CD''s and for a time had one of the top downloaded internet songs on MP3. Philadelphia born and raised, Greg has worked on his craft his entire life. After doing his time as a studio musician in Philadelphia and New York - he too headed west, to San Francisco continuing to work with several Blues and Country Rock bands in the studio and out. An audition for Chevy''s Chase late night show brought Greg to LA where he now permanently resides with countless musical hours and experiences under his belt. To keep food on the table over the years - Greg has combined his musical and electronic expertise to become a sought after Rock and Roll repairman - fixing instruments and saving the day for many big name acts.

Joe and Greg knew each other for almost 5 years before actually working together on the "joe and greg" project. Greg was busy with "Crazy Cat George" and several studio and "pay for play" situations. Joe decided to wait it out. That time came in 2001 with the disbanding of CCG and Joe made his move. Greg being a bass player - felt a bit odd leading the way on guitar - but did so anyway. They began their project as an acoustic duo and that remains the core of what joe and greg are today.
