About Me
I was born and raised in Michigan near the city of Grand Rapids. I was fortunate to have good Christian parents who made sure my five brothers and I not only went to church but also had good examples of Godliness. I was also introduced to music early by my mother. Starting when I was two and a half, she drove me to preschool twice a week. During the hour it took each way, we would sing songs, and Mom discovered that I had a talent for singing. I soon began singing solos in church. When I was five years old, I realized that I had done things wrong and needed to accept Jesus as my savior.

Also at age five I began singing on Children''s Bible Hour, and that continued until I was fifteen. During that time I realized how much music could touch and minister to people and that I loved using music in this way. When I was little my parents also bought a piano, and I began lessons at age ten. By the time I graduated high school, it was clear that music would have a prominent place in my life and ministry.

Although Social Work was my major at Western Michigan University, I minored in music. At the beginning of my sophomore year, I discovered my love and talent for the organ and took three years of lessons in college. Through summer jobs, volunteer work, and an internship, I gained experience with and enjoyment of the developmentally disabled and the elderly. Campus Crusade for Christ was also a rich source of friendships and growth during this time.

After a year of volunteer work and a job at a summer camp for the disabled, I went to Michigan State University and received a Masters in Social Work in 1993. Because I needed additional skills to succeed professionally and personally, I came to Denver in 1995. After my training the Lord led me to stay and look for work. IN early 1996 I got a job at a metro area Department of Social Services, where I am still employed.

During this time, God has enriched my life with many new experiences and friendships. Through it all, He has kept my love for music alive, as well as the dream that He will use it to minister to many people. He has also given me a wonderful church home in Englewood Bible Church.

About the CD

Although I have my own style, it was influenced by many different artists. Among these were songwriters such as Keith Green and Rich Mullens. As far as singers, amy Grant''s Earlier work had a great impact, as did Evie Tournquist-Karlson.

A long-time dream of mine, this CD is the product of many years of writing songs that aim to glorify God and encourage others with every word and note. Although these songs spring from my own experiences, I hope they will build a bridge through which I may communicate to you a little more of God''s love and His plan for you as well as my joy in His gift of music. Listen and ENJOY!
