Scott Topel grew up playing Led Zeppelin, Floyd, and The Beatles'' music on a Les Paul before selling all his electric equipment for an acoustic guitar and a plane ticket to Scotland. Since then he has been immersed in traditional tunes from around the world, while writing an ever-expanding repertoire of his own material. Graduating with honors in classical guitar, he found a technique to serve him and the tracks on this CD show the validity of his journey on the steel string guitar. His influences including Leo Kottke and Kelly Joe phelps prove this American Fingerstyle music is an art with roots as deep as jazz in our musical landscape.
