Her Background:
Kitty Dakota (aka: real name, Rondi Marsh) is a powerful and eclectic folk/pop/rock/country singer-songwriter hailing from the Northwest. She has absorbed and exhibits the variety of vocal styles of many of the female artists that she admires. In the past mainstream artists such as the Bonnie Raitt, Ann Wilson, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell and Chaka Kahn have made an impact as well as many varied styles of male rock/pop artists she grew up with as a child: The Beattles, Jackson 5, David Bowie, Led Zeplin. Examples of influences outside the real mainstream, but nonetheless powerful influences, were artists such as German opera -turned punk singer, Nina Hagen and Marianne Faithful. This explains why her writing reflects good solid rock and pop commercial appeal with a powerful voice and yet there is a eclectic lush style to her writing that stands alone as uniquely her own. Her lyrics to each new song are like opening up a good book and with the first paragraph you''re hooked. This not your usual folk singer from the coffee house.
Her performing experience background:
After writing her first song at age 13 she was hooked on songwriting forever. As a matter of fact, "Alice May" which is on the CD "Cache" was the second song ever written by her. She has had years of performing experience from classical to jazz, to heavy classic rock but has just in the last few years revealed what she has been doing all along-writing fantastic songs that mirror her life experiences. She taught her self to play guitar at age twelve and began singing harmony and writing songs with a friend from school through her young teens. From there she went on to singing in any kind of group she could get into in high school and college including choral and jazz groups. It was in college that she finally tried out for a hard rock group "Savage Grace" that she started to sprout more powerful vocal wings. From that group she became the singer for "Panic Partners" where she gained more experience singing and got her first taste of going into a professional recording studio to record. After earning her Music Education degree with two minors in Education and Psychology she went on to develop a career as a elementary music teacher while maintaining her interest in performing rock. She also performed with the "Yakima Symphony Chorus" for Five years expanding her love of the classics. During her marriage to a fishing guide she shifted her focus into building a career in the sport-fishing and lodging business and eventually moved to Alaska. In spite of a full life of running a fishing lodge, teaching and having two young boys, she started to sing and perform at a couple of coffee houses and festivals up and grew in her confidence in sharing her original songs in front of an audience. After returning to Yakima, Washington where she spent most of her life she pushed forward to perform in a local coffee house there and tried out for the "Country Showdown". It was there that the musicians working with her convinced her that she needed to take her songs into the studio and get serious about making an album. In 2000 "Cache" became a reality for her. Her music has now since moved away from as much of a country folk-rock sound now and decided to perform music as her real name Rondi Marsh on all her future releases. She is ready to release a new album "Thorny Bouquet" in 2005 as well as a new EP co-written with grammy-nominated producer JB Bokowski.

She has built a solid local following and great support from the business community in her home town with an acoustic version of her songs but has grown a regional listening audience on Public radio with good presence on the Internet.
