Shelley is a California native who has travelled extensively across the United States and Canada to inspire Christians to see life as the fantastic experience it can be when a God centered approach is taken toward life.
Shelley was raised in Southern California. She attended California State University at Long Beach, pursuing a career in journalism and public relations. In 1986, while attending college, Shelley gave her life to the Lord at a Billy Graham Crusade. She graduated from college in 1989, and shortly after beginning her career, realized that something was missing.
In time, Shelley realized that she had a calling in her life to share God''s comfort and encouragement through music. This was not something that she chose for herself, but something that was chosen for her. It was a gift. She had no formal training or been involved in music before, but Shelley soon learned that with God all things were possible.
She joined a worship team at Calvary Chapel in West Covina, California with Pastor, Raul Ries, and was encouraged to do an album of her own. Within months, Shelley attended a music conference in Denver, Colorado, where she was offered a record deal with Daywind Music Group from Nashville, Tennessee. Shelley completed two projects with Daywind Music before leaving and joining Big Splash Records, an independent label founded by Julianne Fisher, also located in Nashville.
Shelley''s latest cd, titled the Business of Living, was released in January 2009 and is a compilation of songs about the joys and struggles of everyday life. Shelley is a story teller, not only with her words on paper, but with songs that tell of the extraordinary moments, trials and adventures of everyday living.
As a mother of three, Shelley knows that life is busy and requires wearing many hats. We are mothers, daughters, friends, chauffeurs, nurses, cooks and secretaries to name a few. Shelley''s music and newest project "The Business of Living", celebrates this journey and seeks to remind women that even the seemingly insignificant is of the utmost importance to our Heavenly Father, and can actually be transformed into acts of worship as we serve our families.
Shelley''s heart is that women who hear her music, will be inspired to embrace their highest calling as wives, mothers, daughters, friends and most importantly, daughters of the King.
Shelley has been married to her husband David for the past 14 years. They have three children ages 13, 10 and 7 and reside in Southern California.
