Details:
“Bronze” is the third album from one of New Zealands finest vocalists, David Feehan, and his first for 18 years .

For over 40 years he has been at the forefront of jazz rock and blue eyed soul/R&B in New Zealand, as vocalist for the world renowned Rodger Fox Big Band, with his own band DFB, and as a solo artist.

Feehan has performed all over the world from Ronnie Scotts and the 100 Club in London, Carmillos and the Baked Potato in Los Angeles, The Village Vanguard in New York and twice at the famed Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland plus a Royal Variety concert for Queen Elizabeth 11.

As a highly sought after vocal tutor in his own country Feehan has also performed, attended and given master classes throughout New Zealand, in Sydney, Perth, Singapore, New Orleans, San Diego, Hong Kong, Perugia, London and Havana, and there are many fine and successful New Zealand singers that owe a lot to his dedication to both his and their craft as a tutor, mentor and producer.

After a hiatus of 18 years, David Feehan is back performing, teaching, song writing and producing and this latest album is a testimony to his ability to stay on top of the play when other musicians his age are considering it, or have already retired.

“Bronze” is his third solo album although Feehan has featured on over 20 New Zealand albums, plus as a top session singer when the rock scene was just getting started in New Zealand, he featured on over 15 top chart hits. His other two solo albums are “Ballade” (1986) and “DF” (1990), both successful in New Zealand. “DF” is still available.

Not one to rest, Feehan has been working in Cuba writing a latin based album, set to record and for release in 2010, plus is aiming to record a new album in 2009 with Rodger Fox Big Band of New Zealand.

“Bronze” is a mixture of “Songs I like to sing” and features some fantastic versions of his favourite songs of other top songwriters as well as six of his own, plus a couple of jazz standards for good measure. The production is crisp and shows off the high standard of his own band and backing singers, many of whom are his students. Styles are varied but all through the album is the unmistakable professionalism of top New Zealand male vocalist, David Feehan, in his prime.
