MAD SKILL stands for Music Apologetically Directed Scriptural Knowledge In Lyrical Language. All of the music that MAD SKILL creates derives from his intensive study of the biblical scriptures from those 40 writers of the 66 books that comprise the Bible. MAD SKILL effectively uses poetry combined with hip hop based beats to convey his message of spreading the message of Jesus Christ. MAD SKILL has been working for the past two years on his debut CD entitled "Got Skill" which is due to be independently released on June 30, 2005. Before he became known as MAD SKILL, Kenny Wright used to be heavily involved in underground hip hop, he has done radio drops for college radio stations and has worked with groups such as Me and My cousin and Garfield from the hit R&B group Shai. After rededicating his life to Christ, Kenny Wright decided to leave the underground hip hop scene and refocus on Christ and the ministry that God has intended for him. "Got Skill" is the debut album for MAD SKILL, an artist that has been rhyming and creating music since the early age of ten.
Co-producing the album "Got Skill" is Andrew Ford, an artist that is well known in the music industry for the skill that he shows on the bass and his constant professionalism. He has been the music director for Whitney Houston, and has worked with such artist as Al Jarreau. Andrew Ford has teamed up with MAD SKILL to co-produce the "Got Skill" project and has added his own personal jazzy flavor to the album. MAD SKILL combines scriptural knowledge of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ with a flow that has been developed from his days as a secular artist battling emcee''s in the underground circuit. However, instead of boasting, bragging and putting others down in his music as most emcee''s are accustomed to doing. MAD SKILL chooses to boast and brag only of the work Jesus Christ has done in his life, while uplifting everyone he comes in contact with. MAD SKILL is currently finishing up his debut project "Got Skill" and has began performing at local churches and showcases to assist in the promotion of his latest venture.
