I am a new British female recording artist. Some of you will be surprised that with an Anglo- twang Australian – slightly American accent, (that comes into my singing), that I was born in West Yorkshire, England. I was initially educated in England; went to University in Australia to Masters Level; and then completed my Doctoral Studies in Education in California USA. I think living and working in all of these three Western countries has contributed to my cosmopolitan personality – and produced my unique accent... my way of thinking...and my sound.
I began recording in December 2006. In life, I was married to a reputed and accomplished Australian Studio Musician, Big Band leader, performer and symphony conductor. I spent most of my life (outside my weekly working hours) gigging, performing, vocally backing visiting international performers and artists who played to Australian auditoriums. Initially I trained under Diana Evans and Dame Joan Hammond as a classical singer at the Australian Conservatorium of Music. Later I was restyled by Eileen Dunn and Billy Maher at the famed Australian Academy of Music....to sing the POPS. In my late teens, I was adopted by Australian Jazz Musicians who took me under their wing. I met my to- be husband on stage whilst singing regularly with the Brian King Orchestra / Big Band ...and still gigging, we married five years later. My famed husband Teddy sadly died in July 2008.
Everyone in the music game has always told me that I’d make a great recording artist! They have all said that my predominant genre is predominantly COUNTRY. I trained for POP...was brought up to sing JAZZ with the jazz musicians...and I have always loved to ROCK. Liberace (who I got to know off stage) was my champion. He kept on telling me / reminding me... to ‘KEEP ON SINGING.’ He had a lot of faith in me. My husband was going to help me to record my debut album orchestrally...but the cost of doing a live full orchestra album was always prohibitive, so we never got round to recording same. So now I am realizing my own dreams by composing and writing-recording my own albums - electronically.
‘HOT KISSES’ is my first multi-track self-composed and lyricized album. Same follows three ‘single’ albums currently available on itunes. I do hope that you enjoy this album...as I want to compose, lyricize and record others.
