Details:
Becky Reardon’s voice is familiar to the millions of people who heard her singing on the Charlie Brown TV specials in the 1970’s and ‘80’s. She appeared with George C. Scott and The Fifth Dimension in an NBCTV celebration of the 100th anniversary of the national parks, and she was a regular performer at acoustic venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as a studio singer for many national TV and radio commercials.

Drawn to New Mexico in the early 90’s, Becky left her urban existence for the joys of hiking in desert canyons and the high mountains. She responded to the beautiful world around her by improvising songs to the moon and stars, to the rocks and canyon walls, creating harmonies to the calls of birds and the sound of streams. Out of these joyful experiences she fashioned songs and rounds for community gatherings celebrating the solstices and other ancient holy days, and for theater groups and women’s circles creating ceremonies of passage to the underworld, rebirth, transformation and affirmation.

From New Mexico and California, her songs and rounds have spread to singing circles all across the US, and British Isles. They are treasured for their ability to move singers and listeners to ancient places of pleasure and awe and healing.

Becky lives in Taos, New Mexico, and travels widely to lead singing-in-circle workshops. She was a guest presenter at the NASA-sponsored Institute for Science Educators at Chaco Canyon in 2008, and is currently at work composing and recording a new cd.

Her songs and rounds are collected in three cds: Follow the Motion, Songs for a Walk, and Natural Rhythms , with Terry Garthwaite. Pagan Music Reviews writes about Follow the Motion:  Soulful, jazzy rounds about the cycles of nature. Very different from "standard Pagan chant" style... and I mean that in the best way. This CD is gorgeous for listening (beautiful performance and excellent production), although these original tunes are trickier to sing than they sound! My personal favorite tracks: "The Dark of the Moon", "Follow the Motion", and the incredibly catchy "Where Is The Moon?" *Listen & Buy*
