About Randy Huston
Singer/songwriter, Randy Huston writes and sings about the lifestyle of today''s cowboy because he is one
Huston''s roots as a cowboy run deep as evidenced by his continuing partnership with his dad in the cattle business with ranches in Nashville, Tennessee and Cuervo, New Mexico.
He is on the board of directors of the *North American Corriente Association and competes in the sport of team roping when time allows.
Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Huston is a fourth generation livestock producer. He was breaking horses for wages at 13, his age when he began competing in Junior Rodeo. He continued to rodeo in high school and college, earning a scholarship to New Mexico State University as a bullrider, bareback rider and team roper.
Later he worked ranches in the West, from the Alvord in Eastern Oregon to the JJ Ranch on the Canadian River breaks in West Texas.
After graduating from Washington State University, he moved to Kentucky where he was a horse doctor for some of the best-known horse farms in the world.

Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Huston is a fourth generation livestock producer.
In the early 1990''s Huston pulled from his experiences as a cowboy and former resident of the West to write and record Keepin'' The New West Wild.
It is an album of songs that made a statement about what is happening to family farms and ranches and what must be done to make sure there are future generations of farmers and ranchers in America.
The CD yielded several singles including Tequila For Me, introduced Huston to radio stations and listeners around the country, garnering him an impressive amount of airplay for a debut effort.
Other singles Not Just Along For The Ride, Make My Mother Smile, Lookin'' The Wolf In the Eye and Let There Be One Cowboy Left, solidified his presence on the airwaves.
He wrote and recorded the theme song for the 75th anniversary of The American Farm Bureau Federation, Pass To The Future, and in 1993 his song Lookin'' The Wolf In The Eye was the theme song for the incoming president of the National Cattlemen''s Association., Dan Koons, who invited Huston to perform at the association''s national convention in Nevada that year.
Huston published several songs that have been recorded by Chris LeDoux and Daryl Singletary
Huston has been on a number of television shows including several Nashville Network shows that highlighted his horsemanship and his extensive knowledge of cowboy history.
He has done commercials for the City of Nashville, Western Sizzlin'', Santa Fe Cantina and Cattleman''s Steakhouse.
He hosted a western night at the world famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville which was sponsored by American Songwriter magazine, and has performed at the Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Saddle Up! Celebration.

Huston is available as an entertainer and also as a speaker who can address the topics of the modern day cowboy. His shows encompass both songs and cowboy poetry.
An audience filled with working cowboys loves Huston because he speaks their language. However, he is equally at home with audiences who come to hear a flavor of the west through his music and poetry.
