Mountain''s BIO

I started jamming away on a 6 string ax in a little trailer park out in Windsor, Vermont. This guy Dan Wing had seen each other around the local jam scene for a long time and just by chance hooked up one day. He was (and still is) a really hot guitarist, and after jamming together a bit, he turned me on the BASS GUITAR. I realized then, BASS was DEFINATELY me!! We started a band, calling it GOUND ZERO, and jammed all the local haunts and parties, causing all kinds of trouble. This went on for 4 years. Everybody dug us. At that point, Dan split to a commune some place out in Oregon. I met up with longtime friend & jammer Marshal Quimby. Every weekend for a while, we jammed live as ON IMPULSE. It was on this killer stage that I built, hanging out over the Connecticut River, at the dead end of Jarvis street, where I lived. We hit the bar scene as On Impulse jamming for a couple years and got great responses all around, when ol'' Dan came back in town. He joined up with us, we renamed the band The Staggerin'' MooseMen, and played out for a few years.
Then Dan split back out to some place in Oregon.
In 1996 I fixed up an old ''77 chevy school bus, called it "THE GETAWAY", packed up my few possessions, my pets, and my girlfriend at the time, and headed for Oregon to hook with Dan out there. Along the journey, we broke down in somewhere''s ville, Illinois!!
Ended up in Monee Il., renting at an old farm house where I met a guitar playing mailman.
He asked me to do 3 or 4 tunes at a jam night going at one of the local bars call BRIAN''S PLACE, so I thought, "What the hell, can''t hurt...", and went to the jam. I did my 4 tunes, and sat back down for a brew, when a long curly haired stocky little dude came up to me with a phone number and the band name WEB scribbled on moist a bar napkin. His name was TJ, and said he was the drummer for a band project called WEB. He pointed to the rhythm guitarist saying "That''s Paul, he writes and plays ax". They had just offed several bass players, singers and guitar players due to lack of productivity, and were out looking for studio trackers and permanent replacements for the project. TJ said he really dug my style on bass, offering me the opening as their new Bassist. It was really great for a while, doing gigs, and benefits. The whole thing went to make when guitarists and singers went to overindulgence with dope & alcohol, and not pulling their weight. TJ and I picked up MORE new people, renaming the band once again to the name QUARTEROY. We hit the clubs and parties, but dope & alcohol trashed more ax''s & key''s & singers. Finally, we did a power trio with a singer doing all originals only, and by this time, I had bought all my own studio equipment. This time, as Man, Myth & Legend, we stayed in the studio environment producing 13 finished songs. By the time the some cleared from this train wreck, TJ & I had engineered, recorded, mixed down AND done bass, drums, keys, vocals and arrangements of 9 tunes of the guitarist, 2 of TJ''''s & 2 of mine!! Man we got screwed on that deal. It''s been just me & TJ since 2003, with 10 times more work done on our music writing & production. We just finished our first album called "DESTINY", for sale or song download on https://www.tradebit.com. TJ & I wrote, produced, performed, engineered, recorded, mixed, and manufactured all of it. We also did the front & back cover designs, inner sleeve images & graphics and picture disk all ourselves. It''s a bitch of a job, but some body has to do it!! The live action animated cover on our website was done by me, as were the web pages. The live video images were done by TJ & me. We hope all you rockers enjoy our music and website. Our next album is slated for release around November or so of 2005. It will contain 13 more new originals with 3 bonus tracks, a new killer cover, and new inner sleeve images. Special Thanks to Neil Holmquist of Dungeon Studio, Indiana, for all your help & support.
Drop us a line on the web, tell us how you like our stuff. Always like to hear from music fans & musicians!
Thanks to all you indie music lovers for all your support.

TJ''s BIO

At 3 years old I was standing up & drumming my ass off on end tables in my ma''s livingroom, in a little berg about 40 miles south of Chicago, the blues capitol of the world. I was 8 years old when I bought my first kit. 14 inch toms, 16 inch floor with a 24 inch bass...it was bitchin''. One of my brothers played bass, and another played lead guitar, so I got to jam with them a lot as a kid. Played Clapton, Zep, Allman & Doobie Bro''s. and a bunch in between. Then I jammed in a band called Hairline Fracture with these guys Mitch & Marc, rockin'' out. Mitch went into oblivion, and Marc went on to several productive projects and doin'' tunes for radio ads. After drumming for 5 Star, Flash, Sandollar, and other ROCK INCARNATIONS too numerous to mention, I dropped out of the music scene for a while. Too much drink, too much drugs, lost my musical way. Moved out of state for a number of years, and jammed a little here and there, without much serious focus.
Then one day I came back to town and realized I had to get back the chunks of me that were missing...like my music. So I bought a nice 8 pc Ludwig kit, jammed around with some dudes, and decided to just jam to discs because I couldn''t find anyone serious to jam with and do a album or two. That was right about the time a old friend from way back had come back in town, and put a 5 piece rock project together that fizzled out after about a year or so. As a friend I filled in, He changed the project name to WEB, and we took on some players doing studio tracking on 4 track reel to reel. After his "Bass" playing cousin let out on him, I went in search of a Bassist & Lead player to do a real studio thing with. While searching for replacements for the WEB band, we went to a little bar called Brian''s Place in Monee Illinois to see a lead guitarist. As I watched the Bass player, I said "I''d like to have him as ours", to my partner. Turns out, Mountain wasn''t their bass player!! He was filling in 3 or 4 tune while the bass player for the band was dyin'' in the can from bad chilie!
So I gave Mountain my number, and we worked on originals in the studio, and jammed live outs. When more drinkin'' & drugs trashed that project, we dropped 3 or 4 people, got new blood in, and reincarnated into a band called QUARTEROY. Again, drinkin'' & drugs wiped that out after about a year or so. We went to a three piece power trio with a singer and called that project Man, Myth & Legend. I was Myth! By this point, Mountain had aquired pro gear and put his own recording studio together for us to track in, instead of paying $50.00 to $200.00 per hr. We got around 9 songs of the lead player, 2 of Mountain''s, & 2 of mine actually recorded and finished before the lead player was into so much drinking, snorting, and smokin'' crack that we dumped him and moved on as the current version you now hear on our album "DESTINY".
It took us two years of busting ass to get this first one done, but it''s been worth all the pain & strife we''ve gone through to get here. Special thanks to NeilHolmquist of DUNGEON STUDIOS in Indiana, without whos help, our first album may not have been possible...Thanks again for all your support.
Our 2nd album is due out between September & December of 2005, and we hope you all like it as much as Destiny. Thanks to all you indie music lovcrs out there for all your support of guys like Mountain & Me!

TJ
