Identical twins Ariel & Zoey (A&Z), born October 16, 1998, are making a big name for themselves for their strong voices and beautiful harmonies. A&Z released their first single, Rainbow Connection (which they recorded as a tribute to the children who have a mom or dad in the military serving in Iraq), in the winter of 2007. Legendary Detroit radio personality Dick Purtan certainly helped them gain notice when he featured what he called a “really great version of the Rainbow Connection” on his morning program. Since then, A&Z have appeared on the air, in print, launched their interactive website, performed the National Anthem at numerous events across the country (including the Palace of Auburn Hills prior to a sold-out Detroit Pistons basketball game and before 54,000 at Shea Stadium prior to a NY Mets baseball game) and headlined concerts (joined by their younger brother and MC, Eli) from Ann Arbor, MI to our Nation’s Capital (where they were invited to perform for children of wounded troops at Walter Reed Army Medical Center).
A&Z found a fan in Gary Adler, Drama Desk Award Nominee Broadway conductor (Avenue Q, Radio City Music Hall Christmas Extravaganza)/ composer (Altar Boyz, Disney’s popular children’s show Johnny and the Sprites), who declared A&Z a “rare, real natural talent!” Mr. Adler composed In Your Heart to be the twin’s first original song. A&Z have most recently teamed with Emmy winning composer/producer David Barrett (of “One Shining Moment” fame) and Emmy winning composer Brian Brill. Messrs. Barrett and Brill are producing the girl’s current project which consists of several original Barrett songs. In November of 2008, A&Z joined globally respected conductor Arie Lipsky and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra to perform In Your Heart at the historic Michigan Theater to rave reviews. Maestro Lipsky proclaimed “Ariel & Zoey’s performance was magnificent. They are natural performers who listen to the orchestra and are able to adapt very quickly, like real professionals. Bravo!!!”
