Musician Biography -

Since beginning on the saxophone and singing in the fourth grade choir at school, James has mastered many instruments including the guitar, synthesizer, and bass. Early forays in music included Christian Pop / Rock, Punk, and Heavy Metal. During this time James developed his unique vocal style which, having been honed to professional quality in the early 90''s, became a focal point of the melodic hard rock group, DeFault.

James'' talent and leadership navigated DeFault through an extensive performance and recording schedule which culminated in generous amounts of radio airplay, both in domestic and international markets, as well as producer and label interest. Despite their success, however, DeFault disbanded after a two years, due to creative differences.

Rather than allowing the demise of DeFault to hinder him, James rebounded with The Morning After, an 11 minute, three-song concept EP; it too was met with unanimously good reviews and radio airplay both domesticly and internationally and has propelled him futher forward in what is becoming a successful music career.

And now for the most recent news... With the release of The Morning After, James decided to start publishing a music fanzine, KiT ''Zine or Keeping in Touch Magazine, to help promote the talent of the 90''s and beyond. With the magazine in place, after six years of publishing, James decided to kick off the millennium by starting a coffeehouse, The Agora Cafe'', at Marketplace Community Church, the church he has been attending for the last two years. At around the same time, James has gone into the studio and started to work on a new album titled, Dawn of A New Day.... with the help of some local Christian musicians, as well as the production talents of Michael D''Amore.

Update: In the studio (https://www.tradebit.com) working on a new compilation CD (music that I''ve been a part of over the last ten years - more alternative rock, metal, and punk)due out in August and the name of the magazine is now AfterFX; look for on-line version @ https://www.tradebit.com

PRESS RELEASE:
To whom it may concern,

As James looks back over his music "career" of the last thirteen (13) years, if he died tomorrow, Dawn of A New Day would be considered the epitaph on his tomb stone; his personal epiphany.
With five (5) previous studio recordings under his belt, three (3) which were released - DeFault (self titled), James D. Harvey (The Morning After), and Think of 3 (Personalities), this newest release is by far the best; sonically, production, writing, and performance.
After James disbanded the original Think of 3 in late1995, because of personal dissatisfaction and discontent, James has since been on a journey discovering, not only who he is, but most importantly his Creator and his relationship with God-The Father, Jesus Christ-The Son, and The Holy Spirit (i.e., Think of 3). And Dawn of A New Day is a concept album that reflects that very relationship starting with his birth until the present::
The Beginning - the parents meet, marry, and have a son. Questions - the baby / boy questions life. Know Me! - God knocking on the door of the boy''s heart but...
The Chase (Isaiah 53 and part of 55) - even as God''s enemies, through Jesus'' death on the cross, provides a way / draws us back to Himself. Dawn of A New Day - the boy''s life story until he hears God''s call on his life. Hard to Die! - though loved and accepted by God because of his new found faith in Jesus Christ it''s still hard to die to one''s way of thinking and actions. Why? - about people trying to put him in a box or conform him into their image instead of what he''s been created to be. How Can You Sleep? ( song about Jonah) a call to the church to preach the Good News and to be true to the Truth of the Word, while remembering that we''re all the same - all have fallen short of perfection and the glory of God, and the only difference is that we are saved by grace and not of works.
Pondering the Testimony - (romans 3:10...) James'' "testimony". 4 Bonus tracks: previous releases-Satan''s Children and Morning After, and re-mix of Questions and Dawn.
For press/music reviews and radio stations: if time permits, please listen to the whole CD in context and pick which songs you like best... but if time does not allow for that, please play tracks 3 through 7 ( or 2, 5, and 7 for airplay) for an overview of the CD. Personal favorites: Know Me, The Chase, Dawn of A New Day, and Hard to Die.

Thanks very much for your time! If reviewed, please let me know how to obtain a copy or send me a copy of the review with photocopy of Front Cover... and for Radio, please let me know which of the songs have been played, so that I can add it to the press kit.

P.S. some things of special interest:

New band memebers: Cathy Misciagna - acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Matt Miscianga - bass, Christy Conicello - b/vocals & percussion, Kathy Bonito - keyboards and Bill Augustine on drums.

And in support of his new release James is playing various coffeehouses in the local area by himself, but soon to be with his new band, Think of 3.
