Details:
"I have to admit that, at first, I was a bit unsure of what to make of
Ice Cream Headache''s new CD, ''Dropped As A Baby''.
I heard the band on 105.9 FM''s The X Files the week before the disc
hit the racks, and thought that it was... for lack of a better word... "eclectic."
Then I received my copy for review in Marbles, and found that my
preliminary assessment of ''Dropped'' was fairly accurate...
and I loved it! ''Dropped'' features some of the funkiest and
well-written songs that I''ve ever heard.

Lead singer, Griff, uses his voice
like a chameleon with his ability to blend in with its surroundings --
his vocals are always changing to weave into and mesh flawlessly
with the music. His style shows influences ranging from Alice Cooper
to Gibby Haines (a la ''The Lord Is A Monkey'') to Anthony Kiedis.

Dale, who plays guitar, banjo, bass, drums, and sings
demonstrates extraordinary talent on every track to create a well-oiled
machine that is providing Pittsburgh with some of the most inventive music
since Rusted Root forged their own brand of tribal folk rock
several years ago.

The songs are all sort of "tongue-in-cheek..." playfully dark themes
abound from the funky title track to the almost hip-hop ''Kingzilla'', which
illustrates the hypothetical offspring of King Kong and Godzilla...
the same fate of which Oasis sings in "Champagne Supernova" --
the sometimes inevitable self-destruction of celebrities
due to drugs and alcohol.

Even the fantastic cover art is somewhat dark --
and maybe even a bit unsettling.

Dale and Griff produced ''Dropped'' with the help of local producer and engineer, Rik Meister, at Aircraft Recording Studios (R.I.P). They did a remarkable job -- it is hard to find fault with the quality of the sound on the disc.
True, the themes of the songs may be maudlin - but the extremely professional production will have you dancing to Ice Cream Headache''s trippy vibe just the same.

The bottom line? ''Dropped'' is a true gem. Period.

I highly recommend this disc to anyone who likes creative
and innovative music with a funky vibe. Check out Ice Cream Headache live also -- you won''t be disappointed."
