Vickie Woodard is a Christian singer, songwriter, producer and music teacher among other things. Music is the calling on her life and her passion. "Not a day goes by that I am not activiely engaged in music." says the Engalnd, AR native. Whether it''s playing for her church Mt. Pisgah baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas or sitting at home at her own baby grand, Vickie can always be found composing/polishing new melodies or remixing old favorites. She is the writier and producer of three previous projects which have been well recieved on the black gospel market. Her music has been performed at the National Gospel Music Workshop of America and the National Baptist Convention USA. The song "king of Kings" from her last album "Oh What A story" was featured on the nationally syndicated "Eye on Gospel" radio show and the song "Churchin" has been featured on BET.
In addition to gaining exposure for her own music, Vickie also produced another regional gospel artist "Minister Addison Baker" on his debut CD. She wrote the title song "Cn 1 - A- chord" (On one accord) which was featured at the National Gospel Heritage Foundation concert in Los Angeles, CA in October of 2002.
"Oh what a Story" is a song cycle that depicts the prophecy,birth, life, death, resurection and return of Jesus Christ. It is an anointed work which shows Vickie''s calling and passion. She is joined by several wonderful soloists and backed by her own ensemble, affectionately known as Melodious Praise. The harmonies are beautiful, the musical progressions have hints of Classical, jazz, old school R&B, and even Vaudeville styles.
