Details:
The next best thing after a full day of making turns on a bluebird powder day is partying with your buds afterwards. Waist Deep celebrates both with romping anthems to high-mountain living.

A passion for big mountains is what originally brought each of these musicians to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The rugged beauty of this wilderness outpost offers unparalleled outdoor recreational opportunities, skiing chief among them. Skiing and the "ski bum" mentality are central to Waist Deep''s lifestyle, so it should come as no surprise that this way of life be reflected in their music. "Ski Bum Music" is real.

Waist Deep officially came together in 2001. The group set out to write, record, and perform original music, and the chemistry was there from the first moment. They began gigging almost immediately, impressing local and regional crowds from Lander, Wyoming, to Sun Valley, Idaho, and everywhere in between.

During the winter of 2003, Waist Deep went into the studio with renowned producer Jeff Lord-Alge. The result of this 2-year effort is "Ski Bum Music," a groundbreaking collection of hard-driving American rock with obvious nods at all the influences the individuals have brought into this melting pot.

"Let Me Ride" is essentially a second-wave ska tune, with brief but powerful Randy Rhoads -type passages. "Free Ranging Johnny" features Jeff Eidemiller''s artful Dobro work, conjuring up images of Sonny Landreth. You''ll hear allusions to John Mellencamp in "Wash My Sins." "My Name is Bill. I''m an Aquamaid" is an Alice Cooper- esque ode to America''s only male synchronized swimmer. The album (released in 2005) has received considerable critical acclaim, and the list of radio stations that have added the music to their rotation is expanding every day.

While the common bond of skiing is really what allowed the acquaintance of these musicians, each of them came to group with an impressive resume. Frontman Peter Chandler has been performing in Wyoming for almost 15 years, and has established a reputation as one of the premier singer/songwriters in the Rockies. Chandler''s eclectic past experience also includes a stint as a professional foot bag athlete, and he holds a degree from Harvard Divinity School. Chandler''s perspective on life is indeed unique.

Guitarist Jeff Eidemiller is also a seasoned veteran of the Jackson Hole music scene. He has worked with Chandler on several projects over the past 10 years, and has earned himself quite a reputation as a "hired gun" in the arena of local working bands. Eidemiller is versatile enough to work in any musical situation, but it''s the music of Waist Deep that really allows him to burn.

Bassist Andy Calder is also prominent in the local music scene. Calder studied bass at the University of Michigan, and has sideman credits since then are too numerous to list. His reputation for holding rock-solid grooves has made him the first choice for an extensive list of local and touring groups.

Drummer Ed Domer came to Jackson Hole from Los Angeles, where he cut his teeth performing and recording with an incredible list of internationally acclaimed artists. Domer''s overall musical knowledge brings an uncompromising drive to Waist Deep''s music.

The "feather in the cap" of this band is keyboardist Keith Phillips. Phillips came to Jackson Hole after a 20 year career in New York as a Broadway pianist, where he performed and toured with almost every major show in the 80''s. Experience like that is reserved for the absolute cream of the crop, and Waist Deep is proud to count one of the world''s best as one of their own.

Waist Deep continues to deliver powerful live shows, and its fanbase is expanding every day. "Ski Bum Music" is gaining momentum like a Wyoming avalanche, and it seems as if the best is yet to come for this Wyoming supergroup.

Waist Deep is:
Peter Chandler: Vocals, Harmonica
Jeff Eidemiller: Guitars
Andy Calder: Bass
Ed Domer: Drums
Keith Phillips: Keyboards
