Details:
“Vortis” derives its name from “Vorticism”, a short-lived but influential British avant-guerre movement featuring rebel poets, novelists, dramatists, painters, photographers and sculptors who considered themselves “Primitive Mercenaries in the Modern World”. Its eccentric circle included such Modernist luminaries as Ezra Pound, Wyndham Lewis, Ford Madox Ford, T.S. Eliot and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. Each contributor expressed his/her Vortex. Each member of Vortis expresses all of his experience, all of his past and all of his future rushing vividly through his instrument. “The Vortex is the point of maximum energy, it represents, in mechanics, the greatest efficiency”. Like it’s namesake, the Vorticist “Cause is No-Man''s” and can be best described as punk, exploring “Violent Structures” of “Adolescent Clearness” through its signature style of Agitainment: loud, raucous, fast, savage and anarchic rock n’ roll. In a chaos of imperfection, discord, etc., Vortis finds its stimulus. “Our Vortex is white and abstract with its red-hot swiftness”. It is a music “that means a hundred pictures, the most highly energized statement, the statement that has not yet SPENT itself, but which is the most capable of expressing” its energy despite the futility of the modern world.
