About this CDR:
This is the new edition of The Irish Beat Conductor a unique
tutorial CDR for beginners or advanced musicians on bodhran/ whistle/ flute/ box/ uilleann pipe/ fiddle/ banjo / ect. to improve rhythmical play.
It has 66 percussion high quality MP3s (1''30 - 2''30 long)to play & practice jigs / reels / hornpipes / polkas / waltzes / mazurkas / marches ect and develope a steady and lively rhythm.
speed 1-5 = slow-fast.

This CDR also has a bonus PDF-file with info on rhythm and measure-time in all Irish tune types.

An important characteristic of Irish traditional music is its stirring and lively rhythm.
The tune types are related to certain measure types that consist of metric/rhythmic units.
Playing Irish Trad on fiddle, flute, whistle, bodhran, pipes, etc. therefore requires some feel for meter and rhythm in order to discover, create and maintain the “ pulse” of a tune. Especially when playing in a session or for dancers you need to play the right accents and a steady rhythm.

By playing the 66 percussion mp3’s, both beginning and advanced players can develop or improve their rhythmic play or just enjoy the challenge to maintain a tempo or repeat a tune in the chosen measure/time.
This Cdr is also a usefull workshop- tool for teachers to help a class to discover the pulse of a tune and prevent speeding up.

Also, when practising ornaments, these tracks prove to be a very usefull tool. For example: playing a long roll you need a good timing. Just choose the desired track & tempo and practice the long roll in a part of a jig or reel or just only practice that specific ornament on different notes in a scale.

Through this kind of exercise, eventually you will be able to keep better time and stay in sync with the music without speeding up or slowing down too much.
Once you have mastered this you can start playing more off-beat accents/articulations adding more swing or lilt to the tunes.

To conclude: this Cdr has no artistic pretentions: it is just a helping tool in developing your own style of playing Irish Trad.
To develop this rhythmic lively play really well, it is even more important to visit sessions and concerts and hear/see experienced musicians play.

Warning : this Cdr can cause addiction to Irish Trad!
