North American & Susquehanna is the new CD from Paul Edelman and the Jangling Sparrows. It is the prototype Americana record-wide open and warm, with old fashioned charm-great vocals and great songs. Trains, Civil War soldiers, cars, Abraham Lincoln and many other classic Americana themes are present. A few personal and introspective songs give balance to the bunch. The CD gets better with every listen.
Recorded at Soundgun in Philadelphia with Edan Cohen producing, the ''hopelessly optimistic''Paul Edelman showcases his writing skills with his 10 new originals. Paul, who also plays banjo and harmonica has been in many of Philadelphias top bands including She-Haw, The Boxcars, Naked Omaha, and the Butcher Holler Boys. He contributes to Three songs on ''Burlap Palace'', a Philadelphia tribute to the sounds of the Muscle Shoals Studio during which he worked with legendary producer Jimmy Johnson.
